We have fresh cut sod ready for pick up during the sod season weather permitting.

Sod Delivery

Residential & Commercial

We can deliver your order right to your home or project site.

We offer sod delivery 6 days a week. Forklift equipped trucks.

Pallets are placed by loader not dumped. If your not home, no worries, just mark the spot with an ‘X’ and our drivers will set your order on that spot! Yes, it’s that easy.

Farm Field Pick-up

We can have your sod order fresh cut and waiting for you to pick up. Be sure to b ring your tie downs & tarps!

Sod Deliveries:

Large orders will be delivered by our forklift equipped trucks.
Pallets will be placed with our forklift as close to your work areas as possible.
Smaller orders will be neatly hand stacked on your driveway or parking pad.

Our sod rolls measure:

24 inches x 81 inches (2 ft x 6 ft 9 in)
1 roll = 13.5 sq. feet or 1.5 sq. yards
60 rolls of sod per pallet
1 pallet = 810 sq.feet or 90 sq yard
Simply measure the area’s length x width that you would like to sod.
Measure as accurately as possible.We do not take returns on sod.
Use our sod calculator to help determine the minimum yardage to order.
We advise adding at least 5% to your order so that you do not run short when installing.
Add 10% to the minimum yardage if your site has a lot of curves or angles. Irregular or pie shaped lots tend to use up more sod.

Do you need your sod installed?

Blue Grass Sod offers sod installation if you would like to have your sod professionally installed.

Our installation crew is lead by Ezra a Certified Greenspace Horticulturist with many years of hands on experience on the sod fields and installing sod.

Pallet Return

If your sod was delivered to your site:

As part of our service to our customers we will pick up the empty pallets from your site a few days after delivery. Unless otherwise discussed. Please leave the empty pallets free of all debris & sod where they are visible and accessible to our drivers.

If you picked up pallets of sod: Please return the empty pallets to the Blue Grass Sod Depot or Stead Farm as discussed when you picked up your sod. Call ahead to arrange pallet returns.

Long Distance/Out of Province customers: Please follow instructions given at time of ordering for your pallet returns. Call ahead to arrange pallet returns.

We are Sod Growers & take pride in producing a premium quality product for our customers.

We believe that our customers also deserve top quality service & delivery methods, therefore we do not use dump trucks to deliver our sod. Larger orders will arrive on forklift equipped trucks and pallets of sod will be set on your driveway or parking pad. Smaller orders may arrive on our smaller trucks, sod will then be neatly stacked on your driveway or parking pad.

Proper delivery methods avoid unnecessary damage to the sod and a lot less frustration & work
for our customers.
